3 Poses for Sinus Infection Relief

If you suffer from sinus infections a lot then practice of some yoga poses can help you to develop resistance to sinus infections and in long term prevent sinus attacks. As you might be aware sinuses are cavities which are present in the facial region located around the nose and the eye sockets.

Sinuses are air pockets which keep the head light. However when we suffer from cold or viral attacks in the upper respiratory tract, sinuses are clogged which lead to build up of bacteria in the sinus cavities.

The infection in the sinus cavities cause lot of problems including headaches, nasal congestion and flow of nasal discharge and make the life miserable. Here are few poses which you can practice for sinus relief -

Steam Vapor Treatment

Another easy and must do for relief from Sinus infection is vapor treatment. Take a bowl of water and heat it well until it starts boiling and vapor start coming out. Take of the bowl from the stove. Take a towel and cover your head and the face near the bowl and ensure that the vapor is inhaled. Do this for about 10 minutes with some gap in between. Repeat if necessary. This will loosen the mucus stuck in the tracts and eventually help drain it out.

Eucalyptus Oil

Take a warm cloth and add few drops of diluted eucalyptus oil and apply directly to the upper cheekbones for external relief. You can also apply this to the forehead. Hold the cloth in place for few minutes to ease sinus pressure. Eucalyptus oil increases the blood flow to the facial region and the sinus cavities which helps in clearing congestion and helps fight the infection.

There are many poses which can provide relief in infection of sinus. One of the poses is plough pose.
