This pose is very easy to follow and can be performed by almost anyone. If you have back pain you may want to consult your doctor before attempting this pose.

Steps for Restorative Yoga Practice

1. Take a blanket or a mat and place it near a wall, so that you can lie down perpendicular to the wall.
2. Now lie down on the mat and get as close as possible to the wall. Place the legs on the wall and push yourself further towards the wall.
3. Try to ensure that the hips are touching the wall and if that is not possible then try to get as close as possible.
4. Now when you cannot push yourself any further towards the wall, place a pillow under the hips.
5. Now close your eyes and lie down quietly for 5 to 10 minutes.
6. After the time is over, slowly come out of the pose.

You should feel very relaxed once you practice for around 10 minutes. During this pose, the blood flow is more towards the brain, neck, throat and facial region which will help to calm down all the nerves in that region.

You can try this pose in the evening after the days work and would be able to regain the mental energy fast.

is this pose also known as VipareethaKarani Mudra...???

AWS Notes  – (8:52 PM)

In Viparit Karani mudra usually wall is not used and it is similar to sarvangasana. The difference between sravangasana and viparit karani is in the former legs are perpendicular to the ground where as in viparit karani it is between 60 to 45 degrees from the ground.
